Ceramica Flaminia: a workers’ success story

It is the audacity of 23 young workers who, in the now distant 1954, during strikes in the ceramics sector of Civica Castellana, saw the birth and foundation of Ceramica Flaminia.

It almost sounds like a fairy tale, but the beginnings of Ceramica Flaminia were not easy. Born from a strike, born from the will of a few young people, finding the funds was not easy. So many of them went into debt, others even postponed their marriages, in order to set up one of the most important Italian bathroom furniture companies.

Ceramica Flaminia and the economic boom

Clearly, before reaching where it is today, Ceramica Flaminia was able to change and renew itself over time. The secret of every successful company.

It was able to grasp with enthusiasm the needs of post-war Italy, the Italy of the economic boom. A country where a widespread sense of wellbeing and affluence required increasingly sought-after products and above all in large numbers.

For this reason Ceramica Flaminia renews its production processes and, from an exclusively artisan work, it moves to an industrial production line.

In those years bathroom furniture changes, no longer white, the candid symbol of cleanliness, but an explosion of colours. Italians also in the bathroom want to represent their happiness and Flaminia perfectly captures this desire.

Change of course

After the period of explosion and strong growth, Ceramica Flaminia in the ’80s worked to continue on this course, but some design choices did not seem to enthuse the public.

So in the ’90s it was decided that it was time to change, once again, in order to survive. In this war against decline, the pencils of designers and creative people took to the field. One of them was Giulio Cappellini who, at the dawn of the new millennium, launched the Acquagrande washbasin on the market, which was more than just a product – it was a real symbol.

From that moment on Ceramica Flaminia understands that it is back on track and that design is its racing car. Giulio Cappellini took on the role of art director, directing the entire creative process behind the design of a new collection.

New collections for new production facilities. Today Ceramica Flaminia is committed daily to providing products that are the result of the highest technology, at competitive prices.

Successful products

In this troubled and inspiring history, Ceramica Flaminia produces lines that will end up defining the quality standard in Italy and beyond.

As we mentioned before, the stylistic turning point came with the Acquagrande line of washbasins. A washbasin characterised by clear, decisive, almost imposing shapes. An excellent column on which to base your future.

Moving on to sanitary ware, Ceramica Flaminia has launched many series, one of which is the App line. Born in 2014, it was immediately a success. Today it represents, with its clean and soft lines, one of the flagship products of the manufacturer.

If soft lines are not your thing and you are more fond of a classic design, Ceramica Flaminia helps you with the Efi collection. This is undoubtedly the most traditional collection in the catalogue, with shapes that recall old types of WCs and bidets. Lines, however, that know how to fascinate even the most contemporary among us.

What makes the WCs in the new Ceramica Flaminia collections special is the innovative GoClean technology. This innovation allows designers to remove one of the most unsightly and also not very functional elements: the rim. The rim, in simple words, is nothing more than that ceramic flap, present in toilets, which helps to retain the water of the flush.

Thanks to GoClean technology, this flap is eliminated from Ceramica Flaminia toilets, making it easier to clean every area of your toilet.

This technology has been so successful that it is now almost impossible to find a toilet bowl that still has the brim.
