French bathroom: advantages and features

We Italians, as we know, are fond of our traditions, our way of doing things. This concept applies to various areas: kitchen, lifestyle, breakfast, furnishings and even reaches the structure of bathrooms. We are in fact used to the bathroom which is made up of a room, with inside: toilet, bidet, sink, various furniture and bathtub or shower, sometimes even together.

This is our standard, which may vary in some detail, but this remains the main scheme adopted by all. Yet in the world the bathroom often changes compared to this standard that we have set for ourselves. Our thoughts immediately turn to the bidet, which is absent in almost all countries in the world other than Italy. Yet there are some differences that directly involve the structure of the bathroom.

One of the most interesting versions is that of the so-called French bathroom. In this article we will see what it is, analyzing its characteristics and any practical advantages that could lead us to this somewhat exotic choice.

French bathroom: characteristics

The French bathroom is essentially characterized by the presence of two rooms, sometimes connected and sometimes not, into which the classic elements of the bathroom are divided.

Typically in the French bathroom in one room there is a toilet and possibly a bidet, in the other there is a shower and/or bathtub plus the sink.

This division, which might seem impractical, especially if seen from the perspective of our habits, actually has various very practical advantages.

This division of bathroom elements obviously has different more or less comfortable variations. For example, there is the possibility of having only the toilet in one room and everything else in another. Or just have the shower in one room, thus allowing anyone to wash without taking up the rest of the bathroom.

French bathroom: advantages

First of all, you can use the toilet and leave the sink or shower free for those who need to wash their hands or other things.

Furthermore, dividing the toilet from the rest allows you to keep bad odors away from the rest and keep them contained only in the toilet room.
