How to install a marble resin shower tray

The world of shower trays is certainly one of the most interesting in our field. For some years now, materials have been evolving to meet increasingly sophisticated style needs. But not just style, the materials are always changing and above all for technical reasons. Ceramic has refined and improved, but was soon joined by more sophisticated and technologically advanced materials. Among these certainly includes the marble resin.

This particular material is created by the combination of marble powder, a precious stone, with resin. The result is extraordinary.

We at Quaranta Ceramiche have selected the best products for you, which you can request or see on our shop www.quarantaceramiche.com.

However, not everyone knows how to install a marble resin product, so here are our customized instructions.

Installation of resin marble shower tray

We have found in the market different methods of gluing, some equally valid, others decidedly less, but the gluing of the product relates to the individual experiences of professionals and we must therefore limit ourselves to recommending what we have tested as reliable.

What we believe is essential is that the adhesive is in any case ELASTIC and that SILICONE is used for sealing, remembering that in any case polyurethane foam is the recommended adhesive, as well as by us, by most manufacturers and distributors of composite / resin shower trays. , Well-known brands of primary quality.

The entire installation phase, as we recommend it, is as follows:

Check that the floor and support surface are flat, level and non-yielding, with an adequately sized drain trap.
Install exhaust kit
Position the plate (holding it raised with wooden blocks, for example), checking that it is level and fixing the hydraulic connections of the drain;
let water flow into the plate, checking for any leaks from the connections and checking that the plate drains all the water correctly
Apply 4-5 points of non-expandable polyurethane foam, in the “empty” points between the ribs supporting the shower tray
Place the plate on the floor checking that it is level and seal the entire perimeter of the plate with acetic silicone.
If the tray is installed flush with the floor, leave 2-3 mm of space around the perimeter (to be sealed with acetic silicone) to allow for thermal expansion of the material
Wait for the silicone to dry for at least 24 hours before using the dish
Protect the surface of the tray from mortar, stucco, glues used for laying the shower box, tiles or other subsequent installations.
