Bath or shower: which is the best choice?

In our blog we have often and willingly faced many challenges. They all had the battlefield in common, namely the bathroom. We have seen which sanitary fixtures are the best between suspended and floor-mounted, the same thing was said for furniture and sinks. Then we also addressed the issue of colour, whether glossy or matt, in short we didn’t miss anything.

Today, however, we analyze one of the challenges that has remained pending, one of the most heartfelt and which still divides our customers greatly today: bathtub or shower?

In this article we will not find an answer to the question, but we will objectively present you the pros and cons of each choice, so that you can give yourself the answer to our question: bathtub or shower, which is the best choice?

Bathtub: pros and cons

The bathtub is certainly the more traditional choice of the two, in fact it has always been the maximum idea of hygiene and relaxation. The pros of this choice are many and more than you can imagine.

So here are our pros:

Relax. Certainly the first element in favor is relaxation, a hot bath can help us detach from a world of stress and work calls.
Physical well-being. Especially if equipped with hydromassage jets, the hot water of a tub can help us lift our body, relieving muscle or joint pain.
Children. Even in the case of small children, having a tub available is ideal for washing them thoroughly without too much effort.

However, the tub has many cons:

Spaces. The bathtub really takes up a lot of space, even in its smallest configurations you risk throwing away a lot of bathroom space.
Wasteful. In addition to the waste of space, the tub also wastes a lot of water compared to any shower.
Costs. Generally, a good quality bathtub also tends to cost more than a good shower.

Shower: pros and cons

Let’s move on instead to the more contemporary choice between the two, the younger and fresher. Also in this case we will present for you some pros and cons that may make you lean towards one choice or the other.

Here are our pros:

Spaces. If the tub wasted space, the shower gains it. Even by opting for a very large version, the shower enclosures manage to remain very small. Furthermore, by adopting transparent glass walls the environment remains continuous and airy.
Ecological. Also in this case the comparison with the bathtub is necessary, the shower is infinitely more ecological and uses a much smaller quantity of water.
Economical. In addition to saving water which can weigh on your bill at the end of the year, a shower, even if of excellent quality, tends to cost less than a bathtub. Obviously this also depends on the accessories you are going to combine with it.

Unfortunately, even the shower has its cons that we cannot ignore:

Reduced relaxation. As we were saying, the tub is the triumph of relaxation, while for a shower this is put on the back burner to meet the required efficiency.
Cleaning. The bathtub, being essentially a ceramic surface, is quite simple to clean, while the shower has various elements: shower tray, crystals, taps, soap dish accessories and so on.
Children. Children, until they are independent enough, will not be able to use a shower on their own, forcing you to find strange solutions to overcome it.
