How to assemble a shower cubicle: tips and tricks

Installing your shower of the future seems like a professional job, but anyone can do it with a little patience and the right tools. In this article, we will see together how to mount a shower cubicle so as not to damage and destroy tiles or other expensive products.

So let’s proceed with our guide on how to install a shower enclosure.

Tools for assembling a shower enclosure

The shower cubicle that we are going to assemble will be a simple corner cabin made up of two sliding doors.

The equipment we will need to assemble our shower enclosure will be:

pencil
tape measure
paper tape
level
drill
silicone
screwdriver
rubber mallet

Just like the perfect formula, these are the basic ingredients for preparation. Of course, don’t forget the shower cubicle to assemble.

How to fix profiles and doors

Let’s start by fixing the profiles of our shower cubicle, the ones that will be our outline. Take the tape measure and use a pencil to make a small mark one centimeter from the edge of the shower tray.

At this point, position your profile. Using a spirit level, make sure it is perpendicular to the shower tray to avoid installing the wall incorrectly. At this point mark the various points where the anchoring bolts will be inserted.

Temporarily remove the profile and glue the paper tape on the marks made. This will prevent the drill bit from sliding across the tiles and scratching or damaging them.

Now use the appropriate tip for ceramic material to continue drilling the tiles.

After drilling the hole, all you have to do is use a rubber mallet to insert the dowel. Now you can fix the profiles with the help of a screwdriver and install the fixed door on them, which will be equipped with holes and screws for fastening.

Fixed doors are usually already equipped with sliding profiles, otherwise you can easily install them using the included screw kit.

To complete this step, insert the two corner pieces that connect the two fixed parts. Now you are already at a good point in our guide on how to assemble a shower enclosure.

Install the sliding doors

Sliding doors can be the most delicate part of the shower’s life cycle, or at least the most stressful part.

To assemble, simply fit the top and bottom wheels.

Once this is done, you can install the sliding door into the fixed door profile and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Install the handle in the provided hole and you’re almost done. Now you just need to add various seals: internal and external. These will be supplied with the shower cubicle and will ensure that water does not escape and damage the bathroom.

The position of the magnetic washers that close the two sliding doors is important. At this point you have completed the assembly of the shower enclosure, but the satisfactory part of inserting the bathroom silicone thread around the entire external contour is missing.

A touch that helps waterproof the outer edge.
