Floor tiles for outdoor use in different from the indoor tiles, have a increased roughness of the surface, which prevents it from slipping on the tile even in the rain. The protective varnish was developed to withstand the pressure on the surface of the tile in the outdoor area and under moisture and water according to the norm.
The most commonly used anti-slip standard is the DIN51130 (R). With this standard, tiles can be classified to class R11, R12 or R13. Further standards of the anti-slip coating are DIN 51097 (A + B + C). This property includes class A and B tiles.
Outdoor floor tiles are available in many different finishes and different properties. It is available in matt, textured or roughened. The latter are also non-slip tested and still maintain the easy-care feature.
There are floor tiles for outdoor use with a corundum coating. Although these are also anti-slip, they are difficult to clean. Tiles with corundum coating are not offered in our shop.
